Day 4 – Ping Pong

Well, today hasn’t been as celebratory as I would have liked. Caught myself doing some negative thinking, getting caught up in thoughts of the past, and discontentment about the present. Yet, I’m aware of those thoughts – that’s the good thing – and I bring myself back fairly quickly. Today was sort of a teeter-totter thing; you know, back and forth. I intend to continue celebrating tomorrow!

Day 3 – So much to be thankful for!

As I sit here writing this post, I can’t help but think of how grateful I am! My days are filled with love; I spend time with my wonderful son, watching him live life with amazement, wonder, curiosity and fascination. It’s such a blessing to have the luxury of being a stay-at-home mom and I am genuinely and deeply appreciative. I’m married to a loving and passionate man who treats me like a queen. Our home is surrounded by the beauty of nature – trees, birds, and a peaceful creek. Today, the sun is shining, it’s a gorgeous 80 degrees and a gentle breeze keeps me cool. I am thankful for my health, my family, my friends, and the acquaintances I’ve recently met. All that and it’s not even three o’clock yet!! I’m excited to see what the rest of the day feels like!

Day 2 – Elation!

I am so excited about this experiment! I woke up this morning and consciously said “thank you” for the energy of life within me, for my health, for my family and friends, for essentially everything that I could think of at the time. What an awesome way to start the day! There are so many things to appreciate and that will be my focus today. In fact, I plan find a way to celebrate it (after all, that is the intent of this experiment, right?!) I intend to give more smiles today, more genuine compliments, and celebrate each moment by being fully present rather than thinking about the future or the past. I intend to think how I would feel if I were celebrating something tangible today and feel that feeling throughout the day. That’s why my post is entitled, “Elation.” I intend to feel elated all day today. Can’t wait to come back tonight and tell you how fabulous my day was! Until then…walk in your light and let it shine!

Day 1 of the 30-Day Celebration Experiment!

My husband came home today and said, “Let’s go to dinner to celebrate.” Great idea, I thought. I love going out to eat, and having a night off from cooking dinner for the family would be a welcome change on a Tuesday night. “What good news are we celebrating?” I asked him with a big smile on my face, expecting to hear reports of a windfall. “Uh, it’s not good news, but I thought I’d pretend like it was,” he said half jokingly. He was obviously disappointed at the news he received today, but his comment got me thinking. What if we did act as if we received GREAT news today – anyway?! What a concept! How would that change our outlook? How would that change our attitude? And so, the idea was born. What if, for 30 days, I acted as though everyday was a celebration – regardless of what did or did not happen that day? Could I commit to that? And, if so, what changes would I notice in my life? I have high expectations, I’ll tell you. I’ve been studying the Law of Attraction long before it became the movement-of-the-moment. I know it works and I’m excited to see the amazing benefits from my 30-day commitment. Honestly, while I’m excited about the “things” that are going to show up in my life, I feel good knowing that for 30 days, I am going to feel happy, excited, joyous and elated for no other reason that to feel those feelings! Oh joy!
